The Rustical Kitchen uses selected Oak with no knots and has a subtle stain applied to enhance the beauty of the wood. this kitchen uses barley twist pilasters to emphasize feature areas, such as the banks of drawers and the dresser. The doors have also been distressed to add to the aged look with pegs on the doors.
By using the Oak work surface nosing all along the front edges your eyes are drawn around the kitchen, and by stepping the cabinets around the chimney in this design and back in for the sink area, we added a lot of individuality to the kitchen.

This shows a very popular feature which we use in many different forms. The construction of the moveable island uses a hidden steel box section framework and industrial castors with feet locking brakes. The greatest advantage of this island is that it can easily be moved to the sink area or cooking zone and when not in use it can be stored against a wall to leave the floor clear. The work surface on this island is made of slate and has a battery operated set of flush fitting weighing scales set into the work surface.

This is one of our hand-made dresser tops. This one has solid Oak random width tongue and groove boards in the back and was built to the exact size of the recess. By setting the open display shelves back slightly, the cornice moulding along the top becomes much more interesting.

To allow easy access to the sink area and create a deeper work surface on either side of the sink we tapered the counter top in, by doing so we emphasized the double bowl Granite sink.

The work surface also went right in to the window, this makes an extra deep work surface and an easy to maintain window cill.
